I am seeking to address the Youth Economic Advancement and my understanding of this issue is at the ages between 16-24 we have a high percentage of youth that are unemployed and not in school and this puts them at risk. In LA County we are facing significant challenges in achieving economic advancement. In 2023 over 120,000 young people in this age range group was disconnected. These youth are facing systemic barriers such as child welfare, juvenile justice system, and also experiencing homelessness. These are the type of things they are subjected to that prevents them from engaging in education or employment. I understand that this is the age range and county that takes up about 22% of youth that is affected and disconnected. We need more programs just like my program that helps mentor, motivate, guide and fight through these barriers with real life people who have been through these same conditions and fought through.

Our Beauty training and Business Mentorship is a 8 week program every 8 weeks that will transform our youth inside out. They attend a three hour class weekly. This will consist of a different business professional attending each class, learning the industry hands on including building brands, logos, websites, marketing etc. Second portion is training and learning the technique. Whats hot, new and trending. Third is hands on where they demonstrate and do what they just learned. Students are completely set up for success including gaining their LLC and transitioned into either their own salon or with partnered salons as new employees. For anyone providing such a program, the motivation is deeply personal. It may stem from witnessing the struggles of others, experiencing similar challenges firsthand, or simply a desire to give back to society. The beauty of this initiative lies in its ability to turn challenges into opportunities and hope into reality. Each success story from the program becomes a testament to the resilience and potential of at-risk youth. It reinforces the belief that, given the right tools and support, anyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve greatness.

The impact of the program extends far beyond its immediate participants. When at-risk youth are empowered, they often become agents of change within their communities. Many go on to mentor others, share their knowledge, and contribute to local economies. Their success stories challenge stereotypes and inspire others to believe in their potential. By offering this program, the aim is not only to transform the lives of individuals but to create a ripple effect that uplifts entire communities. This vision aligns with the broader goal of building a more equitable and inclusive society. This program is what Los Angeles County NEEDS and is Missing!
