About this job

The Development Coordinator supports the organization’s fund development , marketing

and communications activities , including event support, donor engagement &

appreciation, social media posting, and general organizational support . The

Development Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Development and works

closely with all staff to build resources and connections which promote Confluence

Rising ’s mission and work.

Roles & responsibilities

Donor Stewardship and Resource Mobilization ( 30%)

• Contribute to the implementation of an annual fund development strategy to

raise $2.1+ million annually that includes individual giving, monthly giving,

foundation & government grants, special events, corporate sponsorships, and

major gifts

• Prepare mailed and online annual fundraising appeals, such as Long Beach

Gives, Spring Appeal, Year -End Appeal, and others as planned

• Maintain Confluence Rising’s supporter database (Bloomerang/Kindful) with

accuracy and integrity, including campaign tracking, updating donor profiles, and

generating receipt letters

• Contribute to sourcing of potential partners, in -kind donations, online campaigns ,

donor prospects and other fundraising opportunities

• Cultivate a culture of resource mobilization among Confluence Rising staff by

sharing relevant information with staff about fundraising and marketing

strategies

Special Events (30%)

• Participate in and implement all activities in an annual calendar of fundraising

events and public programs to raise funds and visibility for Confluence Rising ,

both online and in -person

• Serve as primary logistical support staff for special events, including creating

marketing and outreach materials, organizing registration, liaising with vendors &

event spaces , securing equipment rentals, and coordinating volunteers and staff

Communications & Marketing ( 30%)

• Assist in execution of marketing strategy, including brainstorm ing new ideas for

marketing and establishing and/or following content calendars

• Ensure consistent voice and visual branding for all Confluence Rising materials

• Maintain Confluence Rising ’s website and social media : creates and posts

content on all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn , etc.)

• Maintain email lists for mass communications such as e -newsletters with

accuracy and integrity

• Draft printed and multimedia materials including annual reports, brochures, e -

newsletters, direct mail appeals, specialty publications and A/V projects

• Collect stories, testimonials and data from program staff

Organizational Support (10%)

• Participate in Confluence Rising activities as a staff team member, including but

not limited to staff meetings, retreats, professional development opportunities,

fundraising events, dialogues, conferences, team meetings, and other activities

• Contribute to organizational planning , share feedback to support Confluence

Rising’s growth, and give input into department annual goals as requested

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• At least three years of related work experience and/or equivalent education

• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage deadlines and multiple tasks in a

highly organized, proactive and self -directed way

• Basic understanding of justice -related concepts such as diversity, equity &

inclusion

• Comfort with using (or learning to use) a range of computer software such as

donor database/CRM programs, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat,

Zoom, WordPress , Bloomerang/Kindful, Canva, Adobe, and MailChimp

• Ability to exercise good judgment in handling confidential and sensitive

information

• Excellent writing and editing skills for print & electronic media with special

attention to detail and accuracy without the need for or use of generative AI

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; patient and adaptable when

responding to staff and stakeholder needs

• Demonstrated experience working in a respectful and collaborative manner with

marginalized communities targeted by the systemic inequities, such as People of

Color, LGBTQIA+ communities, youth, people with disabilities, formerly

incarcerated people, religious minorities, and immigrant communities

• Ability to work nights & weekends as requested

• Reliable transportation

Preferred

• Understanding of nonprofit funding structures

• Event planning and logistics experience

• Strong content creation skills with a lens for design, marketing and branding

consistency

Salary

$63,000-$65,000
