Role Overview: 3DE Senior Director

The 3DE Senior Director is a people and implementation leader responsible for ensuring high-quality execution of the 3DE model across partner schools. This role leads through others, developing school implementation managers as change agents, leveraging data and evidence to drive decisions, and partnering strategically with school leadership to align 3DE implementation with school goals and priorities.

In addition to driving model fidelity and results, the Senior Director is responsible for building and sustaining a high-performing, collaborative team culture, one grounded in trust, accountability, continuous learning, and shared ownership of outcomes. As a key member of the local 3DE leadership team, the Senior Director anticipates challenges, strengthens systems, and ensures the 3DE model delivers meaningful impact for students, educators, and school communities

Roles & responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

Leadership, Coaching & Team Performance:

Lead, coach, and develop school implementation managers through observation, data analysis, and structured feedback to strengthen instructional quality and leadership effectiveness

Build and sustain a high-performing, collaborative team culture rooted in trust, psychological safety, shared accountability, and a strong sense of belonging and joy that reflects 3DE's values

Establish clear expectations, team norms, and ways of working that drive alignment, learning, and responsiveness

Develop a cohesive leadership team that learns collectively and operates as a unified group rather than isolated school leaders

Address performance challenges and conflict directly and constructively, balancing care for individuals with accountability for outcomes.

Model reflective practice, transparency, and a growth mindset aligned to 3DE leadership values

School Leadership Partnership & Alignment

Build and maintain strong partnerships with school and district administrators to ensure shared understanding of the 3DE model, expectations, and measures of success.

Serve as a strategic thought partner to principals and school leadership teams, aligning 3DE implementation with school improvement goals, district priorities, and broader system initiatives.

Advocate for model fidelity while navigating competing demands and constraints, proactively surfacing risks or misalignment, and facilitating collaborative problem-solving.

Support school leaders in making informed decisions related to scheduling, staffing, enrollment, and instructional priorities that sustain high-quality implementation

Model Implementation & Fidelity:

Ensure consistent, high-quality implementation of the 3DE model through regular engagement with school leaders, review, and observe model implementation and artifacts

Guide managers and school leaders in responding to implementation or fidelity challenges through curiosity, urgency, and alignment to core 3DE value drivers

Balance non-negotiables of the model with thoughtful adaptation that preserves intended outcomes.

Support schools in building teacher awareness, capacity, and ownership of the 3DE experience

Partner with school teams to design and execute student outreach, enrollment, and engagement strategies that meet participation targets

Strategic Planning, Data & Continuous Improvement:

Use multiple data sources (quality assurance tools, student outcomes, teacher and leader feedback, business partner engagement, implementation artifacts) to identify trends, diagnose root causes,

and drive continuous improvement

Align school-level goals, implementation plans, and performance metrics with district and 3DE priorities using 3DE National success indicators adapted for local context

Anticipate risks, strengthen systems, and ensure infrastructure supports sustainable implementation and team effectiveness

Serve as a liaison between schools, district partners, and JA/3DE leadership to promote alignment, accountability, and effective communication

Qualifications

Desired Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.

Leadership Experience:

Prior experience in educational leadership or a related field. (e.g., administration, department chair)

Demonstrated success coaching adults to change practice, particularly in educational, nonprofit, or complex organizational settings

Experience leading leaders (not just teams), including setting expectations, giving feedback, and managing performance

Data-Driven Decision Making:

Experience using data to inform strategic planning and decision-making.

Relationship Building:

Experience partnering with school or district leadership to implement and sustain complex initiatives.

Skilled at influencing without authority while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations

Strong relationship-builder who can navigate tension, ambiguity, and competing priorities

Time & Operations Management:

Experience organizing multiple projects and competing priorities while effectively managing time

Systems thinker who can balance fidelity, flexibility, and long-term sustainability

Salary

$100,000 - $120,000
