Bring Violence Prevention to the Antelope Valley

Domestic violence (DV) is a growing problem in Los Angeles, with 20% of women reporting abuse by an intimate partner in their lifetime. The Antelope Valley (AV) has the highest rate of emergency room visits due to DV in the County. Child & Family Center seeks to build on our efforts to bring evidence-based, proven relationship violence prevention programming to high school students in the AV through in-school classes, assemblies, community events and other outreach activities.

Expanding Mental Health Service Capacity with AI

Child & Family Center is a community mental health clinic serving more than 900 clients each month, mostly children. We seek to reduce the administrative burden on mental health clinicians by implementing new AI tools to help them write and review client progress notes. The goal is to increase the proportion of time clinicians are engaged in direct treatment, increase their effectiveness, improve their job satisfaction, and ultimately meet more of the demand for mental health services in the community with existing financial resources.
