We provide technical assistance to basic income pilots around the country, nurture the grassroots community through campaigns and events, and advocate for policy change that centers the perspective of lived-experience experts.

CREATE ·2025 Grants ChallengeBasic Income Pilot Participants' Union
Income Movement will launch a first-of-its-kind program that brings together and mobilizes participants of LA guaranteed basic income pilots to create change in their community. These lived experience experts are critical to conversations about basic income and have a key stake in identifying community-driven policy changes they will be most impacted by. Through a Union, we will support members to share their stories, skills and experiences and codesign and advocate for programs and policy grounded in individual dignity.

Empowering Action: Elevating Basic Income Voices to Fuel Change
In service of community-led narrative change around basic income, Income Movement (IM) will host a series of innovative workshops to bring together cash assistance pilots from across the city of LA, other community members, and lived experience experts with the aim of identifying specific, community-driven policy changes that further the movement for basic income. We will create targeted opportunities for workshop members to share their stories and advocate for an economy that is informed by lived experience and grounded in individual dignity.
