    The Makers Hub Club & Professional Speaker Series

    The Makers Hub Club and Professional Speakers Series prepare students for careers in creative industries and trades. We host workshops on creative topics ranging from woodworking to sewing, blending practical skills with creativity. Our Maker's Fair provides opportunities for students to sell their creations, fostering entrepreneurial skills, while our collaboration with our local Carpenters Union offers a pre-apprenticeship program, enhancing career readiness by providing practical experience alongside academic learning.

    More Than Tools: Expanding Trade and Maker Workshops in Compton

    At The Makers Hub鈥檚 Tool Library & Makerspace, hands-on workshops connect residents from Compton and nearby communities to practical skills in trades and creative fields. Participants learn everything from tile setting and woodworking to laser cutting and sublimation printing. These workshops spark creativity, build confidence, and open doors to new opportunities.

    Repair to Retain: Fighting Income Inequality One Repair Clinic at a Time

    Repair Clinics, hosted by The Makers Hub, are free community events where residents learn how to fix their own clothing, furniture, small appliances, and more with guidance from skilled repair coaches. These hands-on sessions promote self-sufficiency, reduce household expenses, and encourage a shift toward a circular economy grounded in repair and reuse. By empowering people to extend the life of their belongings, we help keep wealth in the community and foster long-term economic resilience.

    BUILDING A TOOL LIBRARY IN COMPTON

    Buying tools you may only use once can be frustrating. If we could only borrow them, but from who? There are 200+ Tool Libraries across the nation, but none in Los Angeles! Tool Libraries aren鈥檛 just places to borrow tools for home and garden projects but to start a small business, to teach repair classes, to disperse emergency supplies when climate change events happen and to empower the community. So, let鈥檚 build some, starting in Compton!
